Blue Roots Records

   Blue Roots Records was formed in 1995 with a mandate to present, promote and record deserving blues artists on Canada's West Coast.  A short time after its formation, the label's fiirst release, Kenny 'Blues Boss' Wayne's 'Alive and Loose', garnered no less than four prestigious West Coast Blues Awards and received a JUNO nomination as Canada's Best Blues Album. 

   The material was recorded live at the MagicLab on two unforgettable evenings.  For the occasion, the studio was converted into an intimate blues club where Kenny and his band served up a special helping of some real blues to the appreciative audience.

   The band consisted of Andreas Schuld on guitar, Chris 'The Wrist' Nordquist on drums, Brian Newcombe on bass and Dave 'Hurricane' Hoerl on harmonica.

   The album was released to instant critical acclaim, launching Kenny's now highly successful carreer.

   In 1997, Blue Streak Records replaced Blue Roots Records in the brouhaha label family.
