Workersgiving: A comedy benefit for #15andfairness

After a lot of concerted public pressure, the government's announcement of a $15 minimum wage and better legislation for workers has been made, but the fight isn't over yet. On a personal scale you're likely still seeing debates on the issue between profiles in suits and sunglasses, libertarians, Karl Baldauf and people who entered the workforce when dictaphones were in vogue. On a grand scale, public hearings are taking place across the province over the summer, legislation is being finalized in the fall and then an election- where solid working conditions should be an election issue. The good news- the campaign isn't going anywhere and will continue to fight for the best possible scenario for the largest number of people. It took a lot of effort to get to this point and what better way to let off some steam and build grassroots resources than a comedy night underground with like minds who won't yell "you're gonna kill all the jerbs!" or post a meme featuring a spatula that's somehow supposed to evoke sympathy for the CEO of McDonald's. Featuring performances by: Drew Picklyk Matthew Surina Anasimone George Cameron Phoenix Jordan Foisy Dawn Whitwell Sara Hennessey Fraser Young Doors: 8pm Show: 8:30pm Tickets are $10 in advance or at the door. 100% of ticket sales go to Fight for $15 and Fairness. 15andFairness.org
