Activism 2.0: How to Make the World a Better Place: Mainstage event with Tanya Talaga, Judy Rebick, Kamal Al-Solaylee

EVENT DESCRIPTION

It’s not what we believe that makes a difference – it’s what we do. On April 14th, join gritLIT, Tanya Talaga, Judy Rebick, and Kamal Al-Solaylee who share stories of intolerance and injustice that illustrate the need for social change on our mainstage. Join them for an in-depth discussion about the importance of speaking out, active social engagement and the role of the writer as an activist. Moderated by Jael Richardson, author, and founder of the Festival of Literary Diversity.

gritLIT is Hamilton’s annual literary festival, a four-day celebration of Canadian authors. Since its inception in 2004, the festival has built a reputation with readers in the Golden Horseshoe as a place to get “up close and personal” with their favourite authors and to discover new voices.
