This Creative Exchange takes place in the middle of the Hamilton Film Festival at the historic Staircase Theatre. The Creative Exchange is a casual meet-up of creatives working in, and around, Hamilton.
This exchange includes a short musical performance by GAIL OBEDIAH, at 6:45pm. Gail's music can be heard in the documentary DON'T JUST TALK ABOUT IT, which is playing in the Short Doc program at 7pm.
For those wanting to network, the event runs 6-8pm, if you wish to see the Short Docs at 7pm, we have a limited quantity (20) free tickets for Creative Exchange attendees!

GAIL OBEDIAH
Gail Obediah is Senica - Ojibway - Six Nations of the Grand River Territory - Alderville First Nation.
She was born and raised in the city of Brantford, Ontario, Canada. Gail's CD project, "Let the Eagle Fly" is a music project dedicated to my brothers and sisters, affected by the Residential School system. Gail's music is included in the documentary "Don't Just Talk About It."
ABOUT THE STAIRCASE THEATRE
The Staircase has been Hamilton’s main arts incubator since the last millenium. All manner of film, play, stand up, improv, art, music, dance, poetry, craft, food and party has had its inception at the Cultural epicenter of Dundurn Street North. We have had more befores, firsts, premieres and what the hell was thats than you can shake a script at.
The flagship main campus of The Staircase Complex is an architecturally spectacular four story heritage building that houses an intimate 67 seat live theatre, two rehearsal halls, a cafe and office space. The Staircase is named after the unique cast iron spiral staircase that is the center piece of the main campus building. South Campus (Variety Building) houses a rehearsal hall, and creative spaces. The North Campus (Crack Haus Building) is an artistic residence and working studio space.
The theatre is a truly intimate performance space with plush seats and great acoustics. The rehearsal halls are unique and gorgeous and can are regularly rented out for all for everything for yoga to business launches. There is ample on site parking. The theatre, cafe and bright room in the Main Campus are air conditioned. There is a barrier free access from the parking lot.

The Creative Exchange is a quarterly, casual meet-up with a focus to bring Hamilton-based Film, Music, Fashion and other creative industries, together. The goal is to increase networking amongst creative groups while visiting different spaces in the city.
The event is free to attend and has been a great way to meet others working in the creative industry in Hamilton and area.
Light snacks and beverages provided.
